CLARIFICATIONS
Div - B
Tower
Building:
-
This
years Tower Building Event no longer requires that competitors impound
their structure prior to the start of competition. If possible, however,
we would like to ask teams to "drop off" their structure
during the 8-9am time block so that the event coordinator may begin
assessing their construction. (This is a request and is NOT mandatory)
All devices should have been completed prior to the day's competiton
so we are hoping this is not be a problem. If the students competing
in this event are otherwise competing in another event at that time,
a representative from that team may drop off their structure. We are
waiting to here how this change will be handled at the state level
and will pass it along when we know.
-
With
respect to cross section measurement of triangular pieces. Any triangular
piece used in construction will be measured along each base and NOT
the hypotenuse. The largest of the two bases will be recorded as the
cross section.
-
The
specifications also state either 1/4 " or 6 mm. We will use 1/4"
as it is the larger of the two.
Div - C
Sound
of Music:
-
With
respect to section 3b from the coaches manual, we would like to remind
students that no store bought instruments or parts of professional
instruments are allowed in construction of the musical instrument.
No electricity will be permitted as well. Any team that attempts to
compete in this event that has not followed these guidelines will
automatically fall into a second tier for ranking purposes and will
not be able to place higher than a team that has followed all the
rules.
Boomilever:
